San Ysidro Trail - first attempted waterfalls fail

we visited Santa Barbra 2 days after the hot springs wanted to see water falls, it was SO HOT! here is a fairly short journal

took us almost 3 hours to get to the trail head

The beginning of this trail was confusing, it cuts right through a residential area

the hike was almost all up hill, we saw a lot of cactus on the way

there were also a lot of damselflies and lizards, we can heard the water sound, but wasn't sure we were on the right path, because the signs were not clear

that day was the first time that I made so many stops, not sure if it's the heat or to much up hills

we hiked for about 3 hours, only met 2 other people, and one mountain biker, couldn't get the directions because those 2 people were new here and the biker went way too fast that we couldn't even say a word before he went pass us, did not risk to stop him because i did not plan to get ran over that day.

we saw a bridge after few hours of hikes with "Mcmenemy Trail" words on it...

B-I-G    S-H-O-C-K!!!

after all this time... we were on a wrong path!? arg....

It's a shame we did not see any waterfall that day

I found a link with very useful trail notes and photos

>>San Ysidro Trail - Waterfall<<

maybe we can come back and try it again in the future
