I could call this trip as a second attempt after last year memorial weekend failure
long story short, I lost my phone, and I was too scared to continue my journey without technology.
so here we were once again stopping by Kelso Dunes to find my lost phone and stand up from where I fell, there was not much excitement but driving between LA to Las Vegas, Kelso Dunes is a cool place to check out also for some leg stretches.

we timed to head north from LA around noon that day just like last time

although I prayed for less people, I knew its impossible especially during a long weekend, we found lot more visitors already on the peak when we arrived at 4:30pm

we intentionally to walk extremely slow so the sunset will happen when we reach to the top

maybe the season was different, sun direction changed, we didn't get cool side lighting when we climbed up on the ridge.
and after a year, the shape of the peak certainly changed, because of how popular it got that day, I saw footprints everywhere, made me felt like this place took off its solitary cape, lost its magic of epicness.

we ran down after the sun sunk and dragged all the lights with it, I pressed down my pocked to make sure my cell phone does not pop out this time.

if you look to the east, you can see night rising, expending, dark purple filling into the sky.
