all about May - Vasquez Rocks Loop/Wildwood Regional Park

on May 7 we found this cool place call Vasquez Rocks with striking rock formations located near Santa Clarita, witch reminded me a lot of Alabama hills we went 2 years ago, its not as big but closer to LA.

we got lucky although sky was clear but temperature was pretty cool that day, or without any shades this trail could be blazing hot.

there is a rich history that includes Native American petroglyphs left by the Tatavium tribe, most images had religious meanings.

this place has been used in many movies and television shows, there's even a Star Trek historic site.

If you enjoy bouldering like i do and love desert landscape, I think you’ll like Vasquez Rocks Park

climbing up was easy, the real problem was going back down, so before you get to excited, keep in mind that you do have to find a way to crab-walk down if you are not familiar with any outdoor bouldering skill. we met an young injured mom and a freaking out 10-year- old daughter trapped on their half way down.

if you enjoy seeing geologic formation and don't mind having freeway crossing by, come to Vasquez Rocks!

We were struggled to find good hikes this year, on Actaeas' birthday I picked Wildwood Regional Park to see Paradise Falls.

this hike started at the end of Avenida de los Arboles road with unpleasant sand/dirt road

I am almost tired of how dead south Los Angles looks like with sandy trails and withered yellow field 8 months a year

this feeling hit me stronger after I came back from Iceland, you might think Iceland is mostly a bareland but its thriving, so green and so alive.

so we got to the water fall and Actaeas gave me this face...
I am sorry that i told you this is your birthday hike... so sorry kid....

we walked back and tried out another trail to Lizard Rock, it was more than disappointed because there were a huge wastewater treatment plant right by the bottom of the trail, waste water from Thousand Oaks is processed at this plant, these buildings and pipes will be your only view for 20 minutes.

views got batter after we hiked over to the other side of the hill, but the heat was building up quickly after 10pm

we decided to gave up instead of trying to fix this birthday hike, I am sorry Actaeas, you are 4 now I believe you can understand.

let's end this article with another yawn :3
