after Golden of the Gods we headed south because I insisted to visit Great Sand Dunes in the same afternoon, I told Ti mom that it will be stupid if we don't go there, we are very close! (yeah, 3 hrs of driving distance means NOTHING to me anymore)
At first I thought Ti mom doesn't feel like going to the Great Sand Dunes, she told me she dreamed about drowning in quicksand several times since she was a kid, so she believes she will ended up die in this way, Ti mom kept worrying about there will be quicksand at Great Sand Dunes during winter for some unknown reasons, yet I was the driver and I was pretty persuasive.
the sun was sinking, but we had to make stops at gas stations, we were so sure that we are't going to make it on time, it was 4:30pm but I did not give up on driving.
we made it to the Great Sand Dunes at 5, the sky will be dark in 10 minutes and there was no one in the park. I must say it's kind of cool in the other way to own this place before the sun disappears
after settled all the kids in the car, we human went on a short walk to the other side and actually touched the sand!
when its all dark, we drove to Farmington which is at the north of New Mexico to stay a night, can't believe tomorrow will be our very last stop before 2016.
Valley of the Gods, if you are bringing your dog and wanting some semi Oljato-Monument Valley view, here will be the best place you could pick.
we got back to Utah and stopped by this amazing place on our way back to California
we owned this place once again, this is one of the reasons why I love to go on trips with dogs, we couldn't go to famous spots or national parks, but I have no desire to become one of those tourists or elbowing other people just to find a space to take a picture which looks nothing batter than the one on the the visitor guide.
try not to drive your beloved sedan to Valley of the Gods, it's completely off road driving, and will be really muddy when snow is melting. This drive was tough, most of the times I could not see want's in front of me when we are driving on steep slopes.
it was lovely to go on a long trip once again with the Ti family to end 2015
I believe Actaeas wanted more but unfortunately we are going home now, I really enjoyed our quality time together traveling across 6 states (if we can count New Mexico one) in 8 days, there was a lot of driving but also a lot of laughter and smiles too :3
say goodbye to 2015, and
hello 2016!
