exploring western town at Paramount Ranch

it was a lazy morning we visited an Hollywood filming location close to Malibu Creek State Park called Paramount Ranch, you can find a complete listing of the productions filmed here in the office near by the parking lot.

one of my co-works mentioned about this Western Town full of prop buildings, I was thrilled to found that this place is dog friendly! so here we are!

This town is used in films and TV shows but also available to the public to walk around. the day we came was pretty hot

horses are also allowed here, so I will not call this place clean... you have to watch out your steps when you walk around, smell pretty funny too.

all of the building were locked, you can't go to the second floor, but you could peek through windows. this place is small, we didn't spend more than 30 minutes to walk around, but it's definitely something fun and different.

The hike behind the village was just ok, it’s definitely more about seeing the Western Town.

we found some California poppies on the way

and a interesting looking dandelion

its so glossy that almost looks like plastic, but I still can't find any information on the internet, really want to know it name.

this could be one of the shortest weekend hike we did, again, you certainly can't spend a whole day here unless you go on a 2.8 miles hike, we did not finish the hike because of the heat and lack of shades.
bottom line, Western Town is fun to stop by if you're near, walked through in 30 minutes and you see it all, so I will not recommend to make it a destination trip.
