Actaeas and I kept doing our hiking dates every weekend, last week Ti family finally joined us for the first time because I told Ti mom we might have a chance to catch some snow if we go see Devil's Chair. I had this crazy idea just because I was referencing a hiking review posted in 2003, which i shouldn't.
bad feelings started to pile up in my head because we did not see much snow while we were only 2 miles away from the trail head.
will... I guess I lied, not sure about December, but clearly 1/14/2017 in South California is too hot... :(
me: hey... actually....
Ti mom: no, it's not possible to hike all the way there.
and there
she teased me by telling me this winter I am the only one who did not touch the snow yet, because she brought Actaeas to June Lake last December, Actaeas already tasted the winter.
I did not join their end of the year trip, that's why I was so desperate to see some snow before spring comes.
I will not be so disappointed if I did not know how beautiful this place will be when it covers by snow, it's still pretty by all means.
this is a 7.5 miles in and out hike,we wasn't sure we are going to make it to the end, because our goal was never finishin gthe hike, the joy of hiking with our furry kids is enough, and to be honest, walking to the end doesn't mean anything to them too, so we always like to casually spend our time until we are all happy, and that's it.
this photo looks like I had a reflector underneath Actaeas
not sure what hit me, that day I wanted to get to the end to see those rocks, and I kept telling myself going back will be super easy, all downhills will be super fast just like flying, guess this is what kept me going.
and here we are at the end viewing point!
we sat down for a little bit for food and rests, the view was just okay, I would not call that rewording but I started to get the happiness of finishing the hike.
going back was just like I imagined, pretty simple except some part of unevenly dirt roads
I was actually having a hangover, threw up badly the night before, and Ti mom told me she twisted her ankle few days ago, I could not believe we might finished the longest hike(?) we've ever done when we two were all in horrible conditions...
such a weird experience, and at the end I got a better look of the Devil's Chair close to sunset :)
lucky me!
