10/29 we climbed a tree!
we have a dog walker who will come every other week to take Actaeas to Topanga for afternoon hikes, I actually have never been to Topanga so the next week after I got old we visited the Victory Trail out of my curiosity of this city.
I had a great breakfast at Blu Jam Cafe early at 8am, I highly recommend the Italian breakfast and their crunchy french toast! service was nice, and super dog friendly as well!
we were at the trail head at 9am, that day was actually pretty gloomy, I decided to go lite so I did not bring my DSLR, turned out photos I took are total misery.
we parked on the street instead of their lot, street parking was pretty easy.
it was a bit smelly at the beginning of the trail, I didn't think I can call this place pretty in first 30 minutes of the hike, it's actually dry and trash everywhere.
it is confusing to visitors as well, many junctions are not signed, there are A LOT of roads, signals are bad at some areas, be sure to pay attention of your direction.
we found a tree to climb!
I know this sound crazy but me and Actaeas actually stayed on the tree to chill for a while.
I believe this place will be all green and beautiful when spring comes, but definitely not in October.
for me, what special about Victory Trail is that you can be in the wide-open views in every direction.
this could be the best open space we could find so far in south California if we come in the right season.
took us 2 hours to explore this place, after the hike we headed to Woodland Hills to find something to drink, and accidentally walked into an out door mall .
we were so pleased to find treats boxes, and I do love the atmosphere of this out door shopping area, so relaxing, friendly, nice food and lots of designer shops.
you craving for more huh?
we did some window shopping and also visited a pet store to get lots of goodies!
me and Actaeas also shared a cup of berry greek yogurt, what a day! this is how we ended our October :)
